En route to Delhi now, on the plane. Had trouble sleeping last night, ended up getting about 3 hours. Showered, grabbed a breakfast from 7-11 (bologna pizza sandwich, a less good shredded pork roll, chips and Fanta), sat around my room in only my underwear for a while, which was satisfying. Worked on packing and such as well, obviously. Headed down about 12:50, checked out, turned in my key, and had a much less eventful taxi ride to the airport, thankfully. It wasn't far, which helped. We couldn't even check in for a couple hours, so once we reassembled the group we moved downstairs to get food and wait. I had two barbecue pork-on-a-stick (20 baht. Many of us are going to miss meat on a stick.), a fake spring roll thing (30 baht), and a delicious strawberry-orange-mango smoothie (90 baht). Not bad for airport prices. So we sat around, went and checked in, waited in an interminably long passport line, I forgot my departure card which, thankfully, was easy to fix. The good news was that after the passports, we zipped through security. Headed down to the gate, only barely resisting a 45 baht blizzard at DQ, sat at the gate for a bit waiting on David and Sigrid before giving up and going down. Talk about security – our bags got opened and examined, and the metal wand swiped over us before we could get to the gate. Even after going through normal security procedures. Didn't have to sit for long before general boarding began, got on the plane, played Bejeweled briefly, watched Up (finally, so people will stop yelling at me). Sad, yes, but not as bad as I was afraid from what I had heard. Very good, it's true. After that I watched The Informant! I wasn't sure if I'd have time for Ingluorious Basterds or Public Enemies, so. It's a very... odd movie. I enjoyed it, but definitely a strange one, in terms of pacing and the way they chose to present it. The guy was clearly absolutely insane in real life. So wrapped that up, listening to the Dreaming Out Loud album by One Republic now – all free, I'm really liking Jet Airways. Oh, had a complimentary dinner, Indian food, green curry chicken and rice and some other things. Not bad, just not my preferred flavors. In Delhi within an hour, then dealing with customs, and then off to the hotel.
