Sitting in room 310 in the Hotel Ajanta in Delhi. When I was in the (comfy, comfy) van driving over, it felt a lot like Thailand. Crazy aggressive driving, just less flatbed trucks and more vans and things. Then I got out in the van and was greeted right away with dogs howling and barking all around, none I could see in the dark. Okay, not like Thailand. (Also, while there were MANY taxis around, none of them were aggressively going after us. A lot of people have decided Indians are rude in line already, but I feel like a few hours in the country is too early to judge. … Even if it's true based on those few hours. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.) We walked around the building that said Hotel Ajanta, over some rubble and torn up street, and into the lobby, where of course it took forever to get set up. We ALL had to give our passports and sign. Also, in the airport, it was about 45 rupies to the dollar, but 122 rupies to the baht. What? What? I'm hoping I misread that.

Rooming with Nate, Zypy, and Mike. Originally it was Nate and Zypy, and Mike and I in doubles, but apparently that didn't pan out. Eh, whatever. Mike and I were coming up in the elevator and the power shut out. Fun. So the guy told us “no problem, no problem,” eventually just opened the door, we walked out into the dark, lights came on eventually, though it flickered again in our room.

So uh, it's kind of an adventure.

Also, Delhi? Smoggy. Way smoggy. Wow.
